Every year on July 1, the city of Ranier finds itself helping to celebrate Canada’s anniversary of independence.

The 88th annual Northern Minnesota District Fair will be a few weeks later than usual this year but changes, officials say, will allow for the event to run smoothly.

The Wednesday Concert in the Park series continues through the summer. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. at the band shell in Smokey Bear Park.
